The Botanic Gardens
The Cambridge University Botanic Gardens lie in 40 acres of beautiful gardens, lakes and glasshouses with plants from all over the world. Great cafe and they often host a variety of events and courses. Things To Do In Cambridge highly recommend the gardens…a big thumbs up from us.
Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey
This fascinating museum is set on a sight that has been farmed for over 2000 years, right up until the late 1960’s. 6 miles North of Cambridge, this unique museum gives you an insight into farming through the ages, there is a craftsman’s workshop, the Abbey and Franciscan Nun’s refectory all to visit.
The Centre of Computing History
This makes history of computing relevant and fun for all ages…hosting hands on exhibitions, workshops, activities and events…… a great thing to do with the kids.
Cheeky Monkeys Play Barn
Overlooking 50 acres of farmland in a safe, clean environment…this is a wonderful for indoor/outdoor play area for children and it also has a lovely cafe offering lunches and homemade cakes. Great for letting off a bit of steam.
The Cambridge Treasure Hunt Trail
Thing To Do In Cambridge love the idea of these treasure hunts… a brilliant idea of things to do with the kids….. these are walking treasure hunt’s around Cambridge and surrounding areas, they are suitable for anyone from the age of 6 years old upwards. The trails are done in your own time and at your own pace, they are 1.7 miles and should take you about 2 hours to complete. You can purchase the individual trails and there numerous ones, online, then just download them and off you go! A great way to explore and see the city…Happy hunting.
Jesus Green Outdoor Pool
One of the few remaining Lido’s in the country, built in 1923 and at 91 m is one of the longest pools in the country. Open between May and September, it also boasts a newly opened sauna and there is plenty of space to sunbath and chill.
Parkside Swimming Pool
A municipal pool and a great place to head with the kids…..it has a complex of 3 pools, a 8 lane 25 m pool with two flumes, diving pool and children’s leisure pool, 120 station gym and fitness studio…it has great accessibility for disabled people.
