Great British restaurants…you have plenty to choose from here. We’ve bought you our Top Ten Restaurants in Cambridge but we still have a few really great eateries that are well worth a mention with a good old British theme to their menu’s. All of them offer really tasty, locally sourced food that really showcases great British food.
The Cambridge Chop House and St John’s Chophouse http://www.cambscuisine.com/st-johns-chop-house http://www.cambscuisine.com/cambridge-chop-house
Part of the Cambscuisine group which runs various, very successful restaurants around Cambridgeshire, these two establishments offer good rustic, wholesome British food and takes you from Breakfast right through to Dinner. The Chop House is right in the heart of the city on Kings Parade, St Johns is slightly out of the center but only by a short walk.. The menu’s are both focused on good quality steaks, chops and game, of course other options are available and there are daily specials, as well as a Pudding menu with favorites like Sticky Toffee Pudding and Fruit Crumbles….good ole belt busters but so worth it, a great British restaurant…Delicious!
Bread and Meat http://breadandmeat.co.uk/
For lunch the Things to do in Cambridge team often head here, its great for fine roasted meat sandwiches and a little glass of something to go with it. Brill pit-stop.
Restaurant Twenty Two http://www.restaurant22.co.uk/
Wonderful contemporary British menu in one of Cambridge’s top restaurants, set in a beautiful, elegant Victorian town house backing onto the river…lovely.
Another Cambscuisine baby but totally different vibe to The Chop Houses, Millworks is a former watermill, beautifully restored and is a wonderful setting for this vibrant, modern brasserie. Great selection of food for all, a Things to do in Cambridge favorite is the Burgers and the Sharing boards….that’s if your feeling in a good mood and are willing to share!!!! Great for families.
Set in a wing of the old Addenbrookes Hospital, this lovely gracious building has great charm , its light and airy and with its palm trees gives off a great relaxed, nostalgic atmosphere. It also has outdoor terraces for Al Fresco dining. Great buzz to it …..members of the Things to do in Cambridge team tell me that the Bloody Mary’s here are stuff of legends…best give it a try then!!
D’Arrys Cookhouse and Wine Shop https://darrys.co.uk/
D’Arrys has it all….great Gastropub, Al Fresco Dining, Live music and open mic nights and a Liquor Loft, who doesn’t want to go there! Really good varied menu with all the old favorites, great wine list and lots of craft beers.
The Cambridge Brew House http://www.thecambridgebrewhouse.com/
At Things to do in Cambridge we love this place, not that we’re bias, we love everyone, but if you looking for a laid back, kick your shoes off, watch the match kind of place, this quirky and eccentrically furnished establishment is for you. And for all Beer Bods out there The Brew House is a micro brewery with a great selection of beers as you would expect and to go with your beer it offers a great selection of hearty food with daily specials. Another great British restaurant and bar… a really lively, relaxed place.
